Summer in the Streets
Last month, we gathered at our Community Visioning Session to discuss the issues that affect our families and neighborhoods.
Displacement of our neighbors and loved ones through rising rents, unaffordable housing growth, and deed theft. The impact of a changing climate on our homes and neighborhoods. The lack of affordable options for care and support for our children, and the struggles to make ends meet with rising costs of living.
We know these issues are mighty, but Black people are mightier. Especially when we unite towards building a better now and a brighter Black future.
That’s why this summer, BMC will be outside! We’ll be in the community at block parties, festivals and meetups across Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights and Brownsville for our 2026 Summer in the Streets outreach drive. Come out and speak with a BMC volunteer about joining our movement, and let’s build the solutions we need to live and thrive.
