This summer - we outside! And, we want to meet as many Black Central Brooklyn residents as we can to build collective power and strengthen our communities across Bed Stuy, Brownsville and Crown Heights.
2026 has shown us some of the major challenges we face - flash flooding affecting our neighborhoods like never before, deed theft endangering the homes and generational wealth of our siblings and loved ones, and hard-to-reach resources and support for our children and families.
We know what we need to build the communities we want to thrive in, and it's time to come together to build the thriving Black future we deserve.
Brooklyn Movement Center volunteers will visit block parties, community events and meetups all summer to talk to community members about the issues affecting our lives - collecting sign-ups of our neighbors and friends who want to join our movement.

We are looking for volunteers all summer and beyond to help us build our movement and engage with Black Central Brooklynites. Volunteers must be at least 18 and be able to work outdoors or indoors for a few hours a week.
